On the plus side, each of Armor upgrades give your unit +1 armor stat for each tier of armor upgrade (up to three for some units). What's cool about this is when a unit has upgraded armor there is actually a visual change on the battle map. In order to upgrade armor in the campaign retrain or recruit a unit in a region with the armor building chain. I agree. Rome 1's battles are great but hampered by pathfinding issues and on huge unit scale, it doesn't quite work in settlements. Roman infantry tend to go forward despite being in range to use their pillia, they tend to march forward in battle to do so as well etc.. Medieval 2's got issues but the pathfinding is better. Medieval II: Total War boasts an impressive array of new graphical and gameplay enhancements, including the capability for a massive 10,000 dynamic characters to be taken into battle at any one time. Second Barons' War Took place betweem 1264–1267 "A civil war in England between the forces of a number of barons led by Simon de Montfort against the royalist forces of King Henry III, led initially by the king himself and later by his son Prince Edward, the future King Edward I)." Other than sending the emissary to ask for a ceasefire, you can assassinate the Pope AFTER you get excommunicated. (The ceasefire order won't cancel when the Pope dies, but the excommunication order will.) Your Pope rating will drop all the way to the bottom but hey - if you can kill one Pope, you can kill them all. It is worth noting that Total War: Medieval II also received a Kingdoms expansion back in 2007. It is likely this will be released as an in app purchase later on. It is likely this will be Divide and Conquer is the biggest Third Age: Total War submod of all time. Only game in the series where you can have a well thought out World War on three continents (also possible in Medieval I/II but not as organised and the importance of merchanting in Empire makes it a lot more challenging). Definitely get it, but install the Stainless Steel 6.4 mod right away. The base game is okay, that mod is probably the best total war experience I've had. #2. Lukecis Mar 12, 2016 @ 6:27am. rome tw 1 and medieval 2 are the best games in the series in my opinion so yes its worth getting. #3. I'm not super great at Medieval 2, but a few tips anyways: While you can use buildable-on-the-fly siege equipment, getting some actual dedicated siege units at some point could be very worth it. Get at least a basic level of roads up fairly early. It's a worthwhile investment. If you can get an assassin over there, it's not that hard to Medieval 2 is wildly regarded as the best Total War game, only topled recently by Warhammer II, and that too needed about 4-5 years of constant support and fine-tuning.
